Muslims saved Padmanabhaswamy Temple while it was under threat from a group of looters, Gouri Lakshmi Bai, a member of the Travancore royal family, said.
Speaking at an event organised by Dubai Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) marking the UAE national day, she said that the history of Kerala is all about religious harmony between Hindus and Muslims.

The valuables in the five vaults, estimated to be worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore, include gold coins weighing 1,000 kg, over a tonne of gold in the form of rice trinkets, a sack full of diamonds and a rare statue of Lord Vishnu studded with diamonds, emeralds and rubies.
She also remembered the legacy of Travancore kingdom that gave shelter to a number of Muslims during the time of chaos.
